My first thought (well, okay, maybe second or third, after "BEAVERS!!") was "could they maybe help with the droughts?", and lo and behold, that's exactly where they're coming from. Maybe because after our summer's drought, there were suggestions for building more dams (big human ones), so it sprang to mind easily...
