Beavers in California!

I had no idea there were ever beavers here. And now, some people want to
bring them back!

:) It goes without saying that I'm pro-Beaver! I'm not too sure about the hopes of reintroduction, though - there is a strong lobby that will see beavers as tree-destroyers, and a nuisance to farmers and developers.

Yes, I think there will be lots of anti-beaver opposition. And I really don't know how feasible it would be anyway. But it's an interesting idea.

My first thought (well, okay, maybe second or third, after "BEAVERS!!") was "could they maybe help with the droughts?", and lo and behold, that's exactly where they're coming from.
Maybe because after our summer's drought, there were suggestions for building more dams (big human ones), so it sprang to mind easily...
